Audience

This service is offered by Local IT Staff (LITS) to the local division.

What is it?

The BSOE Local IT Staff (LITS) provide server support for BSOE staff, faculty and students. We have two classes of servers: supported and unsupported. Supported servers are maintaned by BSOE LITS, and users do not have root access to their servers. Unsupported servers are maintaned by the system owner, who does have root access to their servers. Owners of unsupported servers may acquire extra support from BSOE LITS for an hourly recharge rate.

We also offer virtual machine hosting.

How much does it cost?

As of 2016/2017, the cost for hosting servers in the BSOE server room is $30 per RU per year, and the per-hour charge for unsupported server support is $84 per hour.
