Google Calendar Using iCal

iCal 5.0 (Lion OS 10.7)

Upon initial Apple Mail setup, the Lion operating system can simultaeously set up Calendars and Chat as well.  If you already have Gmail set up in Apple Mail, you can check to see if your calendar is already synced:

1. In the Applications folder start up iCal


2. In the top menu,  go to iCal > Preferences

 

3. In the Preferences "Accounts" tab, see if there is already a Gmail account

 

4. If there is no Gmail account, proceed to the Snow Leopard instructions, step 3 below.

 

iCal 3.0/4.0 (Leopard 10.5/Snow Leopard 10.6)

1. In the Applications folder start up iCal (latest version is 4.0)


2. In the top menu,  go to iCal > Preferences





3. In the Preferences dialog, click on the Accounts tab, and click on the + in the bottom left corner



4. In the "Add an Account" dialog, enter the following:
Account type:  CalDAV
User  name:  cruzid@ucsc.edu
Password: Blue password
Server address: https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/cruzid@ucsc.edu/user

NOTE: replace cruzid with the first part of your email address,





5. Once created, your account should appear in the Accounts side navigation




6. Your Google calendar should now appear in iCal
