Connect Your Mac to a Server

On campus you will need to have an ethernet connection.  At home both ethernet and wireless will work.

Connect to your site via AFP (Apple File Protocol)

        1.  In the Finder menu select Go > Connect to Server...

        2.  In the "Server Address" box enter a server name, for example "humweb.ucsc.edu" then click the "Connect" button

        3.  A "Connect to Server" dialog will appear, and you will need to enter your server account name and password
        
        4. A "Select the volumes to mount" dialog will appear, scroll to select the volume you have been instructed to mount

        6. You can now drag and drop your files into the volume, they will no move but be copied to the server
