Setting the Browser Search Engine

In either the Safari or Firefox browser, at the top click on the application name, i.e. “Safari” or “Firefox” then choose “Preferences”.

Safari

In the Preference dialog, in the “General” tab:

1. Click on the “Default search engine” drop down to choose Google (this is the default in Safari).

2. You can make Google your homepage by changing to the Google URL ( http://www.google.com ) in the “Homepage” field.

Firefox

 

1. In the Preference dialog, in the “Search” tab, click on the Default Search Engine drop down to choose Google (Yahoo! is the default).

 

 

2. You can make Google your homepage by changing to the Google URL ( http://www.google.com ) in the “Home Page” field.
